| Saben Quarter Horses Is owned by Micheal and Elizabeth Saben. All Training is done by Elizabeth. We were both born and raised in oregon and had lived there all our lives. Micheal is a truck driver that was introduced to horses about 6 years ago. Since then he has fallen in love with the draft breeds and enjoys trail riding , horse camping and has hopes of competitive team roping. Born and raised in Oregon I had the pleasure of growing up with horses and have been riding most of my life. I started riding when I was seven years old and my parents had Arabians, I took english lessons and then found Barrel Racing. I was hooked on the speed of the event and have never looked back. My love and passion for horses was part of me from the first moment I laid eyes on one and I really think it was given to me by God. Micheal and I moved to the country immediately after we were married so that I could buy more horses. This is when I started my life with Quarter Horses. I really enjoy the breeds versatility and calm disposition. They are a dream to train and make great all around horses. Durring our first year in Southern Oregon I met a woman that ran an Equine rescue and after some donated time was hired as their full time trainer. That job lasted about two years until they lost their govenment funding. I worked with all kinds of issues and horses , BLM wild mustangs , Abused skiddish and everything in between. I would evaluate these horses level of training, handling if any and would get them comfortable with people,desensetizing, sensetizing, saddle breaking, feet, trailer loading etc... In short I would prepare theses horses for adoption into family homes. Alot of the clients I had in Oregon were problem solving issues, bucky, bite, kick etc...And colt starting. I continued to Train out side horses and give lessons. With my own horses I have done alot of Trail riding, Barrel Racing on a local/ state level Rodeo,4D ( platforms)NBHA ,poles, Penning ect..because I was always too busy training to travel very far. I love to team pen and all kinds of speed events but am truly a barrel Racer. I love Training horses and really prefer colt starting to finishing work. Breeding Barrel Horses has always been my focus and I have spent a lot of time learning over the years from some very accomplished triners and breeders to further my own career. Micheal and I really love our new home and are setteling in well here and love Iowa's friendly atmosphere and quiet solotude. I am focusing on promoting , showing my Stallions and colt starting.
